Preserving Family Recipes & Culinary Traditions

Lynn of Family Tree Foodie

Hi, I’m Lynn – home cook, writer, and memory-keeper behind Family Tree Foodie, a blog dedicated to preserving family recipes and the food traditions that connect us across generations. My journey began with my own collection of heirloom recipes – handwritten notes on weathered scraps of paper from my mother, grandmothers, and aunts. After losing my beloved mom, I felt a deep urgency to document not just the meals we shared, but the stories behind them.

What You’ll Find Here

At Family Tree Foodie, I celebrate the intersection of food, memory, and heritage. I recreate and reimagine vintage family recipes while exploring food traditions from around the world and across the seasons. From my grandmother’s Sicilian Lentil Soup to my Aunt Liz’s “Go To School Cookies,” each dish carries the legacy of the women who inspired it.

And when a recipe is inspired by a matriarch, I spotlight their kitchen rituals, cultural traditions, and culinary wisdom passed down through generations.
